People Magazine Names Hottest Country Guys …do you agree?
May 14th, 2009 | By Christie Matthews in Uncategorized | No Comments »People Magazine’s Country issue showcases the 12 hottest guys in country music. They’ve given each on the list a “little designation to help define his distinctive brand of hotness.” I also put my own thoughts in parentheses. Keep in mind, the list People Magazine produces is in ALPHABETICAL ORDER, so it’s not necessarily their rank of hotness!
1. Trace Adkins- the Roughneck ( love his hair and that voice…. oh my! )
2. Dierks Bentley- the Free Spirit ( he’s just a cutie to me)
3. Luke Bryan - the Smooth Talker ( didn’t understand that one, I just like him cause he’s a country boy!! )
4. Kenny Chesney- the Heartbreaker ( is it him doing the heartbreaking or is it his choice of women? )
5. Jack Ingram- the Marathon Man (I’m assuming they chose this description because he never gave up on his dream of being a star )
6. Tim McGraw-the Romantic ( YES, YES, YES! He’s the hottest man alive other than my husband in my eyes. Of course my husband and Tim favor one another)
7. Jake Owen- the Catch ( Best vocals in the business right now! Great smile too!)
8. Brad Paisley-the Charmer ( S-W-E-E-T-H-E-A-R-T…family guy… )
9. Blake Shelton- the Joker ( if I weren’t married, I would want to hang out with Blake)
10. Josh Turner- the Family Man ( another S-W-E-E-T-H-E-A-R-T)
11. Keith Urban-the Heartthrob ( love the accent, love his music, if only he weighed more than 140 pounds, I like a guy that I can’t carry around on my hip! lol )
12. Chuck Wicks- the Leading Man ( peircing dark eyes, very affectionate and he can dance too! xoxox)
I have to add someone… he may not fit the bill as hot in some girls eyes, but there is something very interesting to me about Jamey Johnson. He just does something for me… wild, scruffy, manly… but I bet if he loved you, he’d never let you go!! And his band would be great bodyguards too!
Meet My New Neice Taryn
May 11th, 2009 | By Christie Matthews in Uncategorized | No Comments »Hey! Just wanted to finally show you a picture of my new neice Taryn. She is 2 months old today. As you know, she came to us prematurely and spent a couple weeks at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, but she is doing great now! She weighs ten pounds and is absolutely the cutest baby! This was my family’s first Mother’s Day without our Mom Judy, so having Taryn with us was so helpful. Seeing this brand new life come to us when we so desperately needed something good, was a gift from God. Holding her in my arms for the first time was an incredible feeling and helped to fill the emptiness I have felt since the loss of my mama. While the pain is still there , precious little Taryn has definately helped to ease it. I hope you had a Happy Mother’s Day. If you’re mother is still living I hope you got to spend some time with her, for those of you without Mom’s like me, I know when you saw the sun today you rejoiced, because you made it through. God Bless!
I alswo wanted to share a picture of the view from atop Sugarloaf Mountain. My childhood home is at the bottom of this mountain. Behind the house is Poteau Mountain. I wish the sun had been shining when Kaitlyn and I drove to the top of it. Everything is so lush and green. It was quiet and peaceful up there. I wish we had mountains here!
Would you put your baby in a bucket?
May 6th, 2009 | By Christie Matthews in Uncategorized | No Comments »Okay, so it’s not really “just a bucket” it’s called a Tummy Tub. My sister Marty called me the other day to tell me about this incredible ( albeit a little scary) invention from the Netherlands. It looks like a cross between a bucket and a flower pot and is designed to mimic a baby in it’s mothers womb. You put a certain amount of warm water in the bucket and you sit the baby in the fetal position and hold it’s head. It is said to be very soothing for the baby. It looks a little dangerous to me, but they say its perfectly safe as long as a parent keeps a watchful eye. My sister said she’d love to have one for my newborn neice Taryn who is suffering from colic. What do you think? Would you put your baby in a tummy tub? You can read the whole story by clicking here.
Sorry Clint….”You’re FIRED!”
May 4th, 2009 | By Christie Matthews in Uncategorized | No Comments »Last night on Celebrity Apprentice country star Clint Black heard the word’s “You’re Fired!” by The Donald. His team lost the latest challenge in which he was the project manager. Their task was to write a jingle for Chicken of the Sea tuna. You’d think being a songwriter this would be super easy for him. Unfortunately his jingle was rejected because it was deemed ” too country”. Although I’m sure he hated to be fired on national tv, he has said in several interviews that he has disliked the experience and felt that it made him look bad. I’m sure it’s very stressful and he probably did a little dance off camera because now he can go home to his lovely wife and daughter. We still love you Clint!
