By now you’ve heard that Jake Owen is coming to Jonesboro on September 22nd at the NEA District Fair. I’m so excited, because he is an incredible singer and performer. I’ve had the priveledge of seeing him about eight times now and every time he wows me! The boy has got some pipes and now he’s got a brand new tattoo. Jake said the red “W” on his left forearm is to represent Waylon Jennings. Sorry, the photo is not as upclose as I’d like, but we’ll be able to see it up close and personal next month! See you at the fair.

I know you’re email inbox probably gets filled with tons of forwards, chain emails and the like, but sometimes there’s one that really hits home with you. This one did for me… Its a list of 21 “rules” to live by… not sure of the author… it may be a compilation of lots of folks ideas. I added my own #22 just because I felt it was probably the most important of all. Feel free to share and add to it.

1) Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

2) Marry a man/woman you love to talk to As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

3) Don’t believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

4) When you say, ‘I love you ,’ mean it.

5) When you say, ‘I’m sorry,’ look the person in the eye.

6) Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

7) Believe in love at first sight.
8) Never laugh at anyone’s dream. People who don’t have dreams don’t have much.

9) Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it’s the only way to live life completely.

10) In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

11) Don’t judge people by their relatives.

12) Talk slowly but think quickly.

13) When someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, smile and ask, ‘Why do you want to know?’

14) Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

15) Say ‘bless you’ when you hear someone sneeze.

16) When you lose, don’t lose the lesson !

17) Remember the three R’s: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.

18) Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship..

19) When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

20) Smile when picking up the phone.. The caller will hear it in your voice.

21) Spend some time alone.

22) Read Proverbs 3:5-7 .. God Loves YOU!

Blake Shelton Shoots Down Marriage Rumors: Blake Shelton wants to set the record straight. Responding to recent rumors that he secretly married girlfriend Miranda Lambert, Blake assures his fans there is no Mrs. Shelton. “Why would I keep that?” he tells Detroit’s WYCD radio station. “That would be a huge publicity shot in the arm for me …There would be no reason to keep that a secret.” Blake has been dating Miranda for about three years now. Asked if things were still going well for the couple, the singer joked, “It’s going as well as can be expected with a sick guy like me and a short-tempered killer like her.”
