It’s one of the Canadian diva’s most candid moments that sparked a flurry of Twitter and Facebook activity. Walking to the stage to announce the winner of CMT’s Best Male Video of the Year, Shania Twain slipped in her high heels and caught herself as she landed on her knees.

While many didn’t even catch the slip, Shania decided to address the faux pas upfront by releasing a homemade explanation.

“It’s a rehearsal, not a tour,” Keith Urban said this afternoon as a few hundred fan club members, radio winners, station staffers, media and industry gathered at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium for a preview of the Get Closer 2011 Tour. The informal, abbreviated set opened with “Put You In A Song,” revealing staging that included a large, circular screen and roller coaster-like track assemblies behind and above the stage on which wheeled carts carried moving multi-colored lights. “I came in at the wrong time, didn’t I?” Urban asked his band after the opening number. “I’m new here,” he joked with the crowd. “We’ve got a week to get it right.” A rising satellite stage and a guitar giveaway were part of the show that was “about 25% of what you’re going to see on tour,” Urban said. American Idol Winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina will both have the prestigious  Mercury Nashville stamp on their debut albums. The teen singing sensations have signed with the same label home as Shania Twain, Sugarland, Jamey Johnson, Easton Corbin, and Billy Currington. According to the label, Scotty’s single “ I Love You This Big” has reached 173,000 downloads. Lauren isn’t far behind, her song “ Like My Mother Does” has garnered 124,000 downloads.  

John Rich is the newest Celebrity Apprentice! Donald J. Trump announced Rich as the winner of NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” over runner-up Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin on Sunday night’s LIVE season finale in New York City.  John received the $250,000 prize for his charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The show’s charity earnings for the season totaled $3,120,852 – the largest amount ever raised by a TV series.

It was the royal wedding of country music! On Saturday night, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton finally said “ I do” at the Don Strange Ranch just north of San Anthonio, Texas.  The couple were joined by 550 of their closest friends and family including Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley, Josh Kelley, Katherine Heigl, Neal McCoy, Kelly Clarkson, Laura Bell Bundy and the Bellamy Brothers.  “I’m married to my best friend! “ Miranda told US Weekly following the ceremony.  “ Looking forward to a lifetime of laughter.”  “ I wanted to be married to Miranda the day I proposed,” Blake added. “ Finally, it’s official!”  Miranda, by the way, wore her mother’s wedding dress for the ceremony. Can’t wait to see the wedding pictures; looks like US Weekly will have the exclusive. I’ll keep you posted.  

Miranda Lambert has decided to be her own paparazzi as she prepares for tomorrow’s wedding.   Yesterday she posted a photo of some deer cutlets she bought . . . and she wrote, quote, “Last thing loaded for the wedding!!!  Harvested by . . . me!!!”

She also Tweeted about getting her feet prettied-up.  She wrote, quote, “Getting toenails done.  I feel bad for this girl doin’ it.  I have country girl feet.” And she even posted a photo of a new pink paw-print heart foot tattoo.

 As if it’s not enough torture already to go to a high school reunion, imagine having Carrie Underwood at yours. I mean, no matter how gorgeous of a dress you bought, how high your heels were, how much you spent on highlights and lowlights, how much weight you lost, how natural your spray tan looked and how perfect you made your post-high school life sound, it would be really tough to measure up to Underwood at a reunion. She went back to Oklahoma to attend the 10-year Checotah High Class of 2001 (where she was the salutatorian) reunion this past weekend, and some of her classmates posted pictures on Twitter.
